About

Troop 29 is a scout troop for all girls ages 11-17, no previous scouting experience necessary.

In scouting, the Elementary School scouts join a “Pack”, the Middle and High School scouts join a “Troop”, and scouts age 14-21 can join a “Crew”. Some scouts are in both a “Troop” and a “Crew” when their ages align with both. As scouts move from “Pack” to “Troop” to “Crew” the scouts become more and more youth led, and they have access to different activities targeted to the age group. We are a “Troop” serving a wide variety of Middle and High Schools in the Atlanta/Decatur area, and also many home schooled scouts not attached to any school.

Our Troop is in the Phoenix District of the Atlanta Area Council of Scouts BSA. Families who want to know more about the program are invited to visit a troop meeting at Morningside Presbyterian Church (park at lot @1430 Wessyngton Rd, the lot with the POD) Mondays 7:00-8:30pm.
