Typically the troop heads to Camp Daniel Boone near Asheveille North Carolina for a week in July, in order to do the Pioneer camp (known as Boonesboro Village). Eligible scouts (age 13+) enjoy this camp as there is more freedom and meals are home cooked instead of in the cafeteria. Scouts learn about iron working and pottery and other pioneer skills. This camp is in a different state so cannot be attended for half price after attending camp at Woodruff or Bert Adams. Carpool is generally arranged for this camp.
